When you use a web browser, like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, it saves some information from websites in its cache and cookies. Clearing them fixes certain problems, like loading or formatting issues on sites.
Google Chrome
- On your computer, open Chrome.
- At the top right, click More

- Click More tools
Clear browsing data.
- At the top, choose a time range. To delete everything, select All time.
- Next to "Cookies and other site data" and "Cached images and files," check the boxes.
- Click Clear data
- Close and reopen Chrome
Microsoft Edge
- On your computer, open Edge
- Navigate to the three dots in the upper right of the screen.
- Choose History.
- In the top of the History pane, click the three dots.
- Choose Clear Browsing Data.
- If you are having trouble with library databases we recommend the Time range of All Time.
- Check the options for Browsing history, Cookies and site data, and Cached images and files.
- Click Clear now.
- Close and reopen Edge.
